Using Your Creativity

Since D and I are giving away baked goodies this holiday season, I wanted to make them a bit special. I bought some Christmassy tins and festive covered dishes to put the goodies into, but something was missing.

Last summer, I realized I was collecting a bunch of business cards. I really hated throwing them out. Some were beautiful and others creative. Some were works of art. Some were kind of special. Most of the business cards are blank or have little to no printing on the backside. So there I was, sitting with several business cards each from several vendors that I had bought from and wondering what to do with these little pieces of art and inspiration.

Then it hit me! I can use them as gift tags!  It would be fairly simple to punch a hole in the corner of the card and string ribbon through the hole. Then I can use the backside to write a quick message, such as "From Our House to Yours!" or even "To: Aunty  From: C & D with love!"

This not only reuses the cards, but gives family and friends a chance to see where we shop. Hopefully, they will visit our online favorites and may be do some shopping in the future. I like the idea of being able to spread the knowledge of where to find high quality handcrafted goods! I see this as a win-win option for everyone! Well, every one but the box stores!

  3. You are oh so clever! I use to save all of my Christmas cards....then the next year I would cut the best parts out and punch a hole in them and use them for my gift tags. It worked amazingly well. It was fun looking at the cards again from the previous year and often times I could remember exactly who they were from.
