Something Special

Remember my sweet but feisty neighbor, Mrs. C.? She's the one who takes me walking around town. I wanted to do something special for her for the holidays. She's really good to us between feeding my husband and (seemingly on the days when I am too busy to cook for him!) taking me walking so often. This project of mine started last year when I first learned about tensha beads.

Tensha beads are beautiful. If you aren't familiar with them, visit Fire Mountain Gems and key in "tensha" beads. They are acrylic beads, usually with a floral decal and gold accents. They are lightweight. I started collecting them with the intension of making myself a necklace and then I figured I could make one for my sister-in-law, and from there, my collection started growing.

The first time I saw them, I knew what I wanted to do for Mrs. C. Mrs. C loves rosaries. She collects them. She uses them when she prays and carries one with her to church. Mrs. C also loves red roses. I found a way to combine two of her favorites.
