First Snow of 2010!

Woooooooooohoooooooooo! We have our first official snowfall of 2010! Break out the hot teas, the hot sweet milk, the hot chocolate! Let's Party Folks! It's SNOWING!

Ok...that might have been over the top a bit. First off, it's in the middle of the week and people have to work, Cathryn--including you. Party time is over. Time to put our shoulders into the job. Time to figure out ways to make students enjoy learning statistics. Have to figure out a way to make it meaningful to them instead of being just another course to get through...

But that doesn't mean we can't CELEBRATE the first snow fall of the year. We just can't do it with our noses pressed to the windows watching it all day long! We cannot be like the cats! We have work to do!

The above was just a sample of the self-dialogs that run through me at weird times.

Taken about 6:45AM today...The weather folks are expecting it die out by 9AM.

(Editior's Note) The weather folks said this would die out about 10AM our time. It's nearly 11AM and we are still getting snow. Shows that Mother Nature doesn't pay any attention to weather folks! lol)

  2. Could you combine the amount of snowfall with statistics? Just a thought.

  3. Have you looked at Statistics for the Terrified? Check the Info for Teachers page at http://www.conceptstew.co.uk.

  4. Nope Stoz--I haven't heard of this. I'm using the book by Dr. Neil Salkind: "Statistics for People (Who Think) They Hate Statistics." So I need to check this out! Thanks!
